Tiger Parents/Adult Partners:
It is a REQUIREMENT for the adults who volunteer or are your Scout's Adult Partner to complete specific protection training to comply with Boy Scouts of America as well the Catholic Church given our Charter Organization is Prince of Peace Catholic Community.
Boy Scouts of America's YPT (YOUTH PROTECTION TRAINING)
Youth Protection Training (YPT) is a 15-minute online training module to
comply with requirements set by Boys Scouts of America that you'll need
to complete.
You
do not have to be a registered member or have a member ID to take Youth
Protection training. To take Youth Protection training go to
MyScouting.org and create an account. From the MyScouting.org portal,
click on E-Learning and take the Youth Protection training.
Upon
completion, please print the certificate of completion to submit to Judy
Lizarraga, Den 2 (Tigers) Den Leader. |
Last, but not least, Prince of Peace Catholic Community is PACK 1928's Charter Organization. As such, the Catholic Church REQUIRES all adults who volunteer or are working with children in any capacity at the Church or Church-sponsored events/organizations to attend/complete VIRTUS Training. There are VIRTUS training dates are year-round.

VIRTUS: PROTECTING GOD'S CHILDREN - 3 hours
(This is the initial VIRTUS training course for those taking VIRTUS training for the first time.)
Please register for the closest date you're able to attend. Please inform your Den Leader when you have done so as well as the date, time and location.
For those Adult Partners who need to update their VIRTUS Training (Requirement for those who took VIRTUS training in 2003, 2004 or 2005)
VIRTUS: KEEPING THE PROMISE ALIVE - 2 hours
Please register for the closest date you're able to attend. Please
inform your Den Leader when you have done so as well as the date, time
and location.

I'm sure as parents/adult leaders these requirements are good safeguards
to have in place for our kids' safety and protection. If you have not
completed your training requirements, let's all do our part to comply and be properly trained! As the Boy Scouts of America proclaims, "YOUTH Protection Begins with YOU!"
